Restoration Photos
These are selected photos taken during the restoration of
several of my
Z80 systems. My restoration method
for these systems was total disassembly and cleaning,
replacing only those items that could not be repaired or
restored, such as bad components or damaged rubber grommets,
etc. I cleaned everything to a like new finish, and spent an
incredible amount of time matching paint, learning to use an
airbrush, and repairing the painted finishes. It takes many hours to fully
restore a system this way, not only working at the bench, but
also all the chasing around shopping for parts and hunting down other supplies.

Yes, I have the top cover, but what fun is that?

The system shown above has 64K Ram
(maximum possible), and Rom switcher
for changing boot Roms. I use a laptop and wav or MP3 files in place
of a cassette deck for program storage. This was also the first
system I restored in this manner, and time investment in this system is
over 120 hours. I was learning.
